Hilary: “I’m in love”
Hilary Swank goes public with her relationship with John Campisi, her former agent, in the January issue of W magazine. Of course, I’m in love,” she says. “Or I wouldn’t be in this relationship for as long as I’ve been. He’s a great guy.” Swank, 33 — who began seeing Campisi, 40, after splitting with husband Chad Lowe in 2006 — had been spotted affectionate with him but remained mum on their relationship status. Swank — who said she takes 45 supplements daily as well as vitamin injections — also came clean about her obsession with working out. “I have a really high metabolism,” she said. “Exercise is also really important to me. I think it gives me more energy. I would rather sleep six hours and get an hour workout than sleep seven hours.”
Hilary to play Amelia Earhart
Hilary Swank has signed on to star in another Oscar vehicle: a biopic about Amelia Earhart. Swank was at a party in her honor for her Guerlain fragrance, My Insolence, at the Bel Air Hotel when her manager and agents had to leave to take urgent calls about the deal. Swank announced to the crowd, “If this is what it takes for my team to get me my next gig, then let’s hope that Guerlain takes us all to lunch every week.” She signed the next day to play the doomed pilot, who vanished over the Pacific in 1937 while trying to fly around the world solo.
Hilary helps kickoff clean water fundraiser
Hilary Swank lent her support to a good cause yesterday by helping launch an around-the-world relay to raise money and awareness for the issue of providing safe drinking water for the 1.1 billion people who lack it. About 20 runners will run a whopping 15,000 miles through 16 countries over the next 95 days in the event, organized by the Blue Planet Run Foundation. “What if it were your job to carry in a rusty metal pail all the water you and your family would use for the day?” Swank the crowd at the race kickoff on the lawn of the U.N. “What if the water made you sick? What if you had no choice? I know I will never take a glass of water for granted again.” The goal of Blue Planet, together with the U.N. and partly funded by Dow Chemical Co., is to bring safe drinking water to 20 billion people by 2020.
Hilary’s kindness gets her out of traffic ticket
Hilary Swank‘s recent good deed helped her get out of a speeding ticket. The Oscar winner was learning lines at an LA bakery and helped a woman with her groceries when she noticed all the staff were busy. Days later, Swank was pulled over for speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway by a cop who had witnessed her efforts. “He goes, ‘Hey, Ms. Swank… You know what, you were speeding…but I’m gonna let you off for being a Good Samaritan,’” Swank said of the incident. “I said, ‘What? What did I do?’ and he said, ‘I was at that bakery a few days ago when you got behind the counter and helped that woman, that actually happened to be the judge of Malibu.’ The moral of the story is, if you’re in a bakery and they’re short-handed, get behind the counter – you never know when it’s gonna help you out.”
Got an extra $8 million laying around?
While Hilary Swank jetted off to LA to get glammed up for the Golden Globes, her ex Chad Lowe was busy moving out of the Manhattan apartment the couple once shared. Hilary moves on
Hilary Swank talks about her newfound independence in the February issue of InStyle magazine. Swank announced her divorce from husband Chad Lowe last May. “I’ve never lived alone before,” the Oscar-winner says. “I went from living with my mom right to living with Chad. Now with traveling a lot and not staying any place for long, I have a box filled with floating receipts, makeup I’ll never wear, random dog toys, and a stack of greeting cards I pick out for friends, which inevitably end up in some storage unit.” The Freedom Writers star also confirmed her rumored relationship with her agent, John Campisi, saying, “I’m in a relationship with a great guy who’s not a public person, and I want to respect that. But, yes, I am in a relationship.”
