Most of them are popular due to their acting abilities anyways. Think about this. The longer each one is in the entertainment industry, be it television, movies, singing in concerts or what have you, just think about all the times makeup is put on them daily and taken off. That has got to take a toll on one's face. Especially the gals that have to be in makeup for an extended period of time abnormally because they are having their anatomy facially done up for some part that requires major covering. Like say playing in the movie Monster for Charlize Theron. Or, Halle Berry for X-Men. I can understand why each one wants to look their best when at all possible, it is a tough industry they are all engaged in, especially the models. The door is getting narrower and narrower each year for all of them because of the new competition that comes out each year, like your Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale and what have you. Many are going out to pasture because of this. It has always been like this, and always will be. Most of them due look fairly weathered without make up.
