Not only is Ellen a card, she writes ‘em, too

Talk show host and comedian Ellen Degeneres has finalized a deal with American Greetings Corp to create a line of greeting cards. “I look at having a line of cards as another extension of being a host, helping you wish your loved ones well, piggybacking on your birthday greetings,” Degeneres said in a statement. “I like to be in the middle of everything, and doing it this way is much easier than crashing parties.” The Oscar host’s will create a signature line of 32 cards to debut in stores this summer. Following the partnership announcement, shares of American Greetings stock rose by eight cents.
