Ellen to host Oscars

Ellen Degeneres will host next year’s Academy Awards. An Oscars ceremony producer says the popular talk-show host is perfect for the job. Degeneres was thrilled to land the gig. “There’s two things I’ve always wanted to do in my life – one is to host the Oscars. The second is to get a call from [the Oscars producer]. You can imagine that day’s diary entry.” The 2007 Academy Awards will air on February 27.
