Woody fights off the paparazzi
LAPD is conducting a criminal investigation into accusations that actor Woody Harrelson assaulted a photographer last week as he left a Hollywood club. Harrelson was leaving Element with friends when paparazzi began snapping pictures. The Cheers actor asked them to stop, then walked over to one of the photographers who had persisted in taking pictures and put his hand on the camera, again requesting that the pictures stop. A fight then reportedly ensued between the two. “Unfortunately, this is not the first or the last time the paparazzi have provoked an incident with a celebrity,” Harrelson’s publicist said. “Mr. Harrelson is evaluating all of his legal options against the photographer.” The paparazzo has filed a criminal complaint, and the actor could face charges of vandalism and assault and battery. An LAPD detective said, “We’re going to present it to the District Attorney’s office as early as today [last Friday]. With the tapes and all, it’s pretty good evidence.”
