Barkin to auction off jewels

Ellen Barkin has announced plans to auction off millions of dollars of jewelry given to her by her ex-husband, billionaire Ron Perelman. Barkin hopes the sale will act as a form of therapy and help her move on with her life after her marriage split up in January. The auction will be hosted by Christie’s in London on October 10th. “As exquisite as the collection is, they’re just not memories I want to wear out every day,” she told Vogue. “For other people, they’re pieces of jewelry; for me, they have history… I’ll take a break from the jeweled-trophy-wife look.”
