John Travolta loves his new fatter figure. “I know I have a love handle or two,” he told a British paper, “but I’m lucky that at this stage in my career, it’s not hurting the work I do. And my wife loves the extra meat on me.” And of his super-fit days, the Pulp Fiction actor said, “I often look back on those days with fondness. But I don’t think I’d dare even try to wear those [Saturday Night Fever] outfits now. I love my food.”
Mel checks into rehab
Mel Gibson has checked into a rehab center after his weekend DUI arrest and the subsequent anti-Semitic remarks he made to the police. “He is in a program recovery at this time,” says his rep of the renowned actor and director. But a neighbor and friend of Gibson’s as well as the co-founder of a treatment center in Malibu, isn’t sure it will work. “I understand he has gone to a treatment center. The center that I’ve heard he’s checked himself into follows the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program. And I don’t believe that will help him,” the neighbor said. “He needs individual and intense therapy by a team of people who know what they are looking for in causes of alcoholism. There are only four causes and it is one or more of those four causes that are causing him to be out of control.”

Jamie Foxx has a new love. The Oscar-winning actor is reportedly smitten with British jazz singer Alexia Collen - whom he met in April at a London club. Collen was Foxx’s date at the London premiere of Miami Vice last week, and the Ray actor is rumored to have asked her to move to LA. “He’s definitely really into her and it’s more than just lust - he’s so keen,” a source told a British paper. “Alexia is a little unsure. She thinks he’s lovely but is overawed by the Hollywood thing and is trying to get herself a name as a jazz singer in London.”

Tori Spelling told Giant magazine in a recent interview that she and new husband Dean McDermott rent porn from SugarDVD.com. The CEO of SugarDVD reportedly promised PageSix a list of the titles Tori had watched - but after he called Tori’s reps for permission, “they weren’t pleased - they told me not to.” He was nevertheless thrilled to have Spelling’s public endorsement and said in return, “We’re going to give her free porn for life.”

Nick loses patience with young photog
Nick Lachey is speaking out against reports that he pushed around a student when he tried to take a picture of him on Friday night. The 18-year-old said Lachey roughed him up when he tried to take a picture with his cell phone camera as the pair shared an elevator ride. The teen’s lawyer says his client is considering suing the Newlyweds star, and told PageSix, “It was a cell phone, wasn’t a paparazzi kind of thing. We’re talking about an 18-year-old kid taking in life in the big city.” But Lachey’s reps tell a different tale, insisting the boy began harassing Lachey at a drugstore before following him into girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo’s NYC building. “We believe it was a lot more than a young man trying to take a picture,” Lachey’s publicist says. “This harrassment with camera phones - it’s just out of control.”

Lindsay’s mom comes to her defense
Lindsay Lohan’s mom has spoken out about the letter the Mean Girls actress received from a studio exec. In an interview to air tomorrow on Access Hollywood, Dina Lohan says, “The wording was ridiculous… I feel when you are 19 it is way out of line… Maybe he has personal issues with whomever and it came out with my child. I don’t know him. I can’t judge him. I don’t think it was a smart thing to do to a young girl.” When asked if there is any truth to the letter’s accusations, Dina Lohan defends her daughter. “Lindsay was in 105 [degree weather] saying, ‘Mommy, I feel sick, like I am going to faint.’ She took herself to the hospital. She has asthma and in extreme cold or heat you can’t breathe… I’m a mother and will do what I need to do to protect my child… I don’t think it should be aired out and everyone should know. It’s personal.” And about her daughter’s alleged “ongoing all night heavy partying,” Dina added, “Lindsay gets to work late, okay… She’s a human being. There was one day when she was late and they worked the schedule around her… As far as Lindsay’s health is concerned, she’s fine and she is back on set. She will win an Academy Award for this picture… Justice!”
