Tom cruises to top of Forbes list
Tom Cruise has topped Forbes magazine’s annual Celebrity 100 Power List - the only star to ever have done so twice. “[Cruise]’s one of the few guaranteed bankable stars,” said a Forbes editor. “No one in Hollywood can negotiate the kind of salary he gets.” The list ranks the “currency” and clout of TV, film, music and sports stars, and along with his bankroll, Cruise’s publicity-grabbing lifestyle helped him nab the top spot this year. Also making the top ten this year: Oprah Winfrey, Howard Stern, Tiger Woods, 50 Cent, Dan Brown, the Rolling Stones, U2 and Steven Spielberg. “There’s a lot of fluctuation,” said the magazine’s editor. “It has to do with what [celebrities] are doing and how much they’re getting paid for it.” Cruise first topped the list in 2001.
